Gratitude

A razor can't be sharpened on a piece of velvet.

A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the parent of all the other virtues.

A true friend is someone who says nice things behind your back.

Appreciative words are the most powerful force for good on earth.

Be thankful that your job is a little harder than you like.

But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life; and thanks to a benevolent arrangement of things, the greater part of life is sunshine.

Do all the good you can, and make as little fuss about it as possible.

Even though we can't have all we want, we ought to be thankful we don't get what we deserve.

Good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good actions in others.

Good words cost no more than bad.

Gratitude is the memory of the heart.

Gratitude is when memory is stored in the heart and not in the mind.

Gratitude preserves old friendships, and procures new.

Gratitude takes three forms:A feeling in the heart;an expression in words;and a giving in return.

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.

He enjoys much who is thankful for little; a grateful mind is both a great and happy mind.

He who gives to me teaches me to give.

He who receives a good turn should never forget it; he who does one should never remember it.

If you have nothing for which to be thankful, make up your mind that there's something wrong with you.

If you haven't all the things you want, be grateful for the things you don't have that you wouldn't want.

If you think you haven't much to be thankful for, why not be thankful for some of the things you DON'T have.

It isn't what you have in your pocket that makes you thankful, but what you have in your heart.

Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but there echoes are truly endless.

Kindness in words creates confidence;Kindness in thinking creates profoundness;Kindness in giving creates love.

Let us be thankful for the fools. But for them the rest of us could not succeed.

No man is so tall that he never need stretch and none to small that he never need stoop.

Nothing is more honorable than a grateful heart.

Nothing is worth more than this day.

One good turn deserves another.

One kind word can warm three winter months.

Praise does wonders for our sense of hearing.

Praise is like sunlight to the human spirit;we cannot flower and grow without it.

Some people are always grumbling because roses have thorns; I am thankful that thorns have roses.

Thanks for the last time we were together.

The best portion of a good man's life--his little, namesless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.

The best way to pay for a lovely moment is to enjoy it.

The kindness I have longest remembered has been of this sort, the sort unsaid; so far behind the speaker's lips that almost it already lay in my heart. It did not have far to go to be communicated.

The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.

The sweetest sound of all is praise.

There is as much greatness of mind in acknowledging a good turn as in doing it.

There's always something to be thankful for. If you can't pay your bills, you can be thankful you're not one of your creditors.

There's one thing for which you should be abundantly thankful -- only you and God have all the facts about yourself.

To recieve honestly is the best thanks for a good thing.

We hope that, when the insects take over the world, they will remember with gratitude how we took them along on all our picnics.

Your bounty is beyond my speaking; But though my mouth;be dumb, my heart;shall thank you.
